Abstract

Energy consumption and energy saving are attracting many attentions recently from every politician, managers, researchers, engineers and even users. In order to this, there are many efforts to use the renewable energy resource. So solar cells and all systems which are able to absorb, save and then release the heat energy, are examined and there are many improvements. Regarding the characteristics of saving energy, many materials are examined and finally phase change materials (PCM) are considered. These materials are able to absorb and release the energy in low temperature too and could be an interesting option for saving energy. In this article, in spite of introducing PCMs, we look on the possibility of using metals and alloys as saving energy materials. Metals with low melting temperature like Ga, In, Bi, Al and Si due to their good and acceptable thermal-physical properties, could show better performance.
